Iconic New York Celebrity Hot Spot to Launch in Dubai
Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger and Diane Von Furstenberg are just some of the celebrities to frequent this hot spot.
It has hosted many of the greats of the pop culture scene and now one of New York’s most legendary restaurants is coming to Dubai. Indochine has been going strong in Manhattan for more than three decades, opening its doors to such luminaries as Andy Warhol, Mick Jagger and Diane Von Furstenberg.
It’s a place where the hip let their hair down and unwind all while tucking into some scrumptious Vietnamese delicacies such as stuffed chicken wings. All this while being surrounded by the eatery’s instantly recognizable tropical print wallpaper. And soon, Dubai residents will be able to enjoy it too since Indochine is set to open in DIFC.
“Indochine is still as relevant today as it was when it opened its doors in 1984,” says Khalil Dahmash, one half of VKD Hospitality Group along with Varun Khemaney, who is bringing the sensational restaurant to the UAE. The pair is also behind the popular Miss Lily’s Dubai Jamaican restaurant in the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Dubai. “It’s the next step in the evolution of dining in Dubai,” he continues. “Indochine draws in like-minded people to mingle. Its timeless decor and effortlessly cool character helped cement it as one of the best restaurants in New York.”
What can we expect from this new iteration? The true essence of Indochine, Dahmash promises. “In 35 years, Indochine has never franchised or licensed itself – until now. We are extremely excited to show Dubai what’s to come.”
